Flight Centre Travel Group has officially been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing (2023) by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture.
A dedicated 'active hour', where employees are encouraged to take one hour out of their working week to put towards a form of health and wellbeing, is just one of the reasons why employees at Flight Centre Travel Group believe it’s a great place to work. Whether it be attending gym classes, taking a walk or participating in a guided meditation, the active hour can be spent in any way that benefits the employee's health and wellbeing.
Great Place to Work’s culture experts analysed thousands of employee surveys, assessing people’s holistic experiences of wellbeing at work to determine the UK's Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list. The surveys asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.
90% of Flight Centre Travel Group employees believe that they can be themselves at work.
91% believe when you join the organisation, you are made to feel welcome.
“At the heart of every organisation are its people and looking after their wellbeing should be much more than a package of impressive perks on a careers website,” explains Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK. “We know when employees feel genuinely contented and at ease within their roles, they are much more engaged and productive. Now in our second year of the UK's Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list, we’re once again able to showcase the leading organisations providing cultures conducive to outstanding psychological, physical and social wellbeing. A huge congratulations to Flight Centre Travel Group for making this prestigious list.”
"I’m thrilled that Flight Centre Travel Group has once again been recognised as one of UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing. Our people are our number one philosophy, and building an environment that supports both their health and wellbeing remains our top priority. I am incredibly proud to receive this award as it demonstrates the policies and initiatives People and Culture have implemented are appreciated by our people," says Will Leonelli, People and Culture Leader (UK & Europe).
"Over the past year, we’ve added to our benefits offering including our purchase leave scheme which was put in place to help our people achieve a greater work-life balance. We’ve also focused more on supporting those affected by Menopause by signing the workplace Menopause Pledge and organising a webinar to offer support and advice. Furthermore, the launch of LinkedIn Learning and our new monthly 'Learning Hour' is another way that we hope to facilitate our people’s learning and wellbeing."
